Airsoft Originated in Japan
The sport of Airsoft originated in Japan, where civilian gun ownership is illegal. Airsoft rapidly enjoyed immense popularity as gun enthusiasts found a fun and legal way to enjoy their sport. Now Airsoft has invaded the US and is quickly becoming one of the most popular of outdoor sports.
They are NOT REAL GUNS
Airsoft guns are NOT real guns, nor can they be modified in any way to become real guns. In addition, airsoft guns are NOT the traditional BB guns which use metal pellets. Airsoft guns shoot plastic pellets, generally 6mm in diameter.
They are NOT Paintball Guns
Airsoft guns are different from paintball guns, as well. Paintball pellets are significantly larger in diameter and are filled with paint, and, therefore, cannot be used with airsoft rifles or airsoft pistols.
Are Airsoft Guns Safe?
Airsoft products are designed to be safe as they are not able to produce significant power. That being said, they are still shooting 6mm plastic pellets at velocities as high as 600 fps and common sense must still be used when shooting anywhere near living beings (humans or animals).
You must wear safety goggles when participating in the sport of Airsoft. In addition, the USA government REQUIRES that ALL imported airsoft guns possess ORANGE PAINTED BARREL TIPS. All the guns sold on this website will have the orange tip - and this MUST NOT BE REMOVED. Airsoft pistols and rifles ARE LEGAL in the USA provided the gun has the orange tip on the barrel.
